The Mandala represents wholeness, and can be seen as a model for the organizational structure of life itself - a cosmic diagram that reminds us of our relation to the infinite, the world that extends both beyond and within our bodies and minds.

Since a circle with a center pattern is the basic structure of creation - we start with you. Perhaps a circle of friends or acquaintances, a group of co-workers or fellow artists.

Our time together will include:

  • Opening with Native American Prayer to the 4 directions

To you, the North – direction of spirit
The direction of caution and great darkness,
The givers of winter, of phantoms, of the snow
    That covers us in oneness
    I offer you –

To you, the East – the direction of the sunrise
Where hope is born and every day begins anew
    I offer you –

To you, the South – from where warmth comes
And rest and growth and color and life
    I offer you –

To you, the West – where dreams take wing
    And day comes to rest
    I offer you -

  • A presentation that describes mandalas in depth and a graphic pictorial from my collection.
  • Hands on art time, with exercises that provide an opportunity to deepen into the nature of mandalas.
  • A closure of sharing.
  • I am open to tailoring a workshop to your specific needs.

"Ruby leads you on the path to your center-the beginning. She displays wisdom and gentle grace; educating and transforming with her knowledge of both the chronological and archeological diversity and multiculturalism associated with the timeless mandala."
C. A. Santa Barbara, California

"The thing I really got in this workshop was that unlike other esoteric pursuits, this isn't something that has been 'fixed' by fate, or cast in concrete. I literally created my own mandala in this workshop! I drew it myself. No one told me how to do it. It's mine; and it will change over time, as I change."
U.K.H. Salt Spring Island, Canada

"All creative processes are a dip in the divine mystery. Here, it's unmistakably clear: we're painting a circle. I came to understand how profound the circle is in the configuration of the world. When one comes to understand how important the circle is in the grand scheme of things, connecting to it by way of mandalas can become a spiritual experience."
S.U., Tucson, Arizona

"Ruby works with joy and passion to inform the world of the sublime jubilance that is circle-ness."
D.D. Malibu, California
